The VBC PhD Winter Call 2019 is now open!

The VBC PhD Programme aims to empower curious young researches to develop into rigorous, independent scientists. Our goal is for applicants to find a meaningful and exciting project in one of the participating labs, and ensure that candidates have the necessary support and resources to excel. 

We invite applications from motivated and knowledgeable applicants from all over the world. Applicants should hold a Master's degree or equivalent from a university in the field of Natural Sciences. It is also possible to apply when the master's degree is received within six months after the application deadline.

For the ongoing call, the following groups at IMBA are recruiting: Julius Brennecke, Alejandro Burga, Ulrich Elling, Daniel Gerlich, Sasha Mendjan, Shambaditya Saha, Kikuë Tachibana and Noelia Urbán.

The VBC PhD Programme is jointly organized by IMP, GMI, IMBA, and MFPL; the degree is awarded by the University of Vienna. The VBC programme has established itself as one of the premier programs in biology and life sciences in the heart of Europe.
